Weather Update: According to the Meteorological Department of India, the southwest Monsoon is covering the few parts of states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. However, in the coming days, it may spread into its nearby regions. The northern states including Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh would likely see the heatwave situations today as well as tomorrow. The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was ranging from 40 degree Celsius to 43 degree Celsius. It was recorded in parts of Punjab and Rajasthan. However the national capital went up to 38-40 degree Celsius as the maximum temperature yesterday. IMD predicts thundershowers with rain in Delhi today.

The major rainfall is predicted in isolated areas of Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Tripura, Tamil Nadu and Mizoram. Moreover, West Bengal(including Kolkata) and Sikkim can see rainfall which can be followed by thundershowers and lightning as well. As per the IMD forecast, there is a possibility of thundershowers along with lightning in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha as well. It may be followed by breezy winds with a speed of 30-40 kmph.
